On May 14, the weather department also stated that light rainfall and thundershowers are possible in the next 48 hours. This weather report by IMD came a day after Mumbai witnessed a dust storm and heavy unseasonal rains. The change in climate on May 13 brought much needed relief from the soaring heat in Mumbai, Thane, and its neighbouring area.
