Officials in Russian-annexed Crimea said some of the missiles were downed over the Black Sea peninsula.<br/>The US admitted last week that it secretly shipped long-range missiles to Ukraine for use against Russian forces. The weapons, which reached Ukraine this month, were part of a $300m aid package approved by US President Joe Biden in March.<br/>Whether to send the ATACMS missiles with a range up to 300 km was a subject of debate within the Biden administration for months.
