The ceremony then returned the following two years but was once again put on hold in 2023 due to the Writers Guild of America strike, which started just five days prior. He helped jumpstart careers and served as a mentor to many of today's most notable directors including James Cameron, Martin Scorsese, and Robert De Niro.
